Family: Assign speaking tasks

How parents can create speaking tasks for their children (product process and description of current app capabilities).

Parents specify "what to practice today" for their children through Family Space. When the child completes it, record it in Record → Speaking Task.

Related: speaking Tasks (Overview), Open Family Space, Child Account, Parents Monitor Progress.

Preconditions

  1. Log in with the parent’s main account (not the child’s account).
  2. Opened family space.
  3. Created child account.
  4. It is recommended to allocate practice minutes to prevent children from completing half the time.

Where to put the entrance?

Assign speaking tasks in My → Home (not the Speaking Tab).

It is recommended that the main buttons be placed alongside Allocate Minutes and Confirm Plan on the member card. For details, see internal guide-app (DESIGN-DOC · dodotalk-speaking-tasks-product).

Why not put a speaking tab: The speaking page is a place for children to practice speaking; the layout belongs to "management members" and should be completed in the family space.

if…

  • Children cannot see the task: Confirm that you are logging in with a child account; whether the task has been published (after going online); the demo environment may only have one sample task.
  • Want to arrange but can't find the button: It is a known gap, please use the plan first or practice by yourself; see speaking Task·Current Ability.
  • Record after completion in "Self practice": You must enter from Spoken → Speaking Task instead of practicing Tab by yourself.
