When using it for the first time, it is recommended to go through the main path in the following order. The homepage "Today's Step" will prompt you which step to take based on your status.
Five-step main path
- Level test (informal test) → Know where it is. See What is proficiency assessment.
- Use AI to generate plan → Write down the goals and generate a draft. See Generating draft plans with AI.
- It will take effect after you confirm it → The plan will be executed. See Confirm Plan and Start Execution.
- Speak every day → Practice/tasks/sparring by yourself. See First Speaking.
- View Record → Review the timeline and compare stages. See What's in the Record.
Why this order?
| Which step to skip | Common results |
|---|---|
| Directly generate plans for unexpected levels | The target and difficulty may deviate greatly |
| Only a draft will be generated without confirmation | The home page will not be regarded as a plan that must be implemented |
| Just make plans but don’t talk | Without practice records, it’s hard to see progress |
| Just practice without looking at the records | Difficult to adjust plans or tasks in time |
Walk around for a day according to the role (short example)
- Personal: Today's one-step prompt evaluation → Generate and confirm the plan → Self practice in speaking → Review in the record.
- Parents: Confirm the child's plan → allocate minutes → the child practices with his or her own account → parents watch on their behalf.
- Personal trainer: Confirm the plan or assign tasks for students → Practice for students → Read the summary before class.
if…
- Today's step has been stopped at the evaluation: Complete a level evaluation, or enter the plan tab manually.
- The plan has been generated but today’s step still prompts for confirmation: Open the draft plan and click Confirm/Save.
- Want to speak first before making plans: Yes, but it is recommended to retest and confirm as soon as possible to facilitate the continuity of "one step today".
